Transition Dressing

Transition Dressing

As autumn approaches and Coronavirus shows little sign of disappearing from our lives any time soon, the little things in life are becoming ever more important. One of these things? Dressing ourselves each day. Countless people will tell you that the only way they made it through lockdown was by putting together an outfit each morning, despite not having anywhere to go - we know that this was certainly the case for us.

Whilst we will always love a pyjama day, dressing as though life is still “normal” can be incredibly powerful - somehow, more things on our to-do lists get done when we’re dressed as though we have somewhere to be. With that in mind, we thought we’d give you a couple of suggestions as to how to style some of our favourite Indoi pieces, specifically with a more relaxed approach. We’ve teamed them with garments from other brands who also champion a versatile, timeless and conscious approach to fashion.

Let us know which of the combinations are your favourites - or, indeed, if you have any other styling suggestions. We’re always on the lookout for more combinations!

Layer Away

Indoi pieces are meant for layering. Cooler days means that we now need to wrap up that bit warmer - and what better way to do so than in our Frida Silk Dot Jacket? Made out of 100% handwoven silk, it will keep the chills at bay when combined with a crisp white shirt, like the one below, over our Sarah top. A pair of cream organic cotton jeans and boots will finish the look off nicely, drawing out the golden tones of the jacket.

Casual Statements

Whilst many of our pieces may appear to be more formal at first, items like the Zof Silk Organza Wrap Top work superbly whatever the occasion. Team it with a pair of black wide-legged jeans and boots, and voila: a casual yet statement-making combination. Keep it warm by adding a long cardigan.

Elevated Simplicity

Finally, we suggest styling our beautiful Bel’s Blouse with a pair of organic cotton jeans. Make sure to tuck in the shirt to create effortless shape, then elevate the look with a pair of square toe shoes. Finally, finish off the look with a long wool coat.

Less is More

For a slightly more pared-down look, try teaming our Farah Silk Organza Wrap Top with blue high waisted jeans. Add a fitted high neck top neck or cashmere tank underneath for those cooler days. In terms of footwear, we’d go with some shearling pumps - they’re playful yet muted, nicely fitting in with the rest of the outfit, but will certainly elevate your slipper game whilst on all of those Zoom calls!

Who said white is just for summer?

Our Molly Cotton Dress takes you from summer to winter in three effortless moves: simply add a roll neck top and tights before finishing off the look with some chunky boots. Just like that, you’re all sorted: comfort, style and more. This is certainly a winning combination for those chillier park walks; however, the Molly Dress is one from the archives, so be sure to snap it up quickly as she won’t be around for much longer!

Of course, there are countless combinations and options for styling our pieces. Nevertheless, we hope this has given you some outfit inspiration for the coming weeks and months. If you have any questions about our pieces or the brand in general, do not hesitate to drop us an email or message on Instagram
