Why Scarcity, Done This Way, Is a Form of Care

The fashion industry's oldest habit is abundance - more fabric than needed, more units than will sell, more of everything so that nothing runs out. That habit has a cost the planet has been quietly paying for a long time: water, dye run-off, mountains of textile waste, fields grown only to be discarded.

Working from found antique fabric refuses that habit at the root. We make from a neighbourhood that remembers what it means to work with cloth. Poblenou was once threaded through with textile mills - the looms, the dye houses, the rhythm of fabric moving through hands long before any of us arrived. We work inside that memory. Every antique textile we find and reshape continues something that was already in motion here, long before INDOI existed.
